There was plenty of action as Wells Gray Riders hosted a gymkhana at the Upper Clearwater riding arena on Saturday, Aug. 26.

“Amazing seeing all the families these events bring together for a day of fun,” said Michelle Baker, one of the organizers.

The club has had excellent turnout this season, with always over 40 riders participating, she reported. That number usually includes over 25 youth.

There is a youth group this year that provides activities with prizes for youth who are spectating to participate in as well so everyone can be involved.

Support throughout community has been tremendous, with sponsorships totalling over $13,000 this season.

There was no scheduled gymkhana for July as it did not fit into organizers’ schedules. The club is only holding five gymkhanas this year, with the next one and last one scheduled for Sept 23.
