The U15 Clearwater and District Minor Hockey (CDMHA) team won gold at their home tournament Jan. 13 and 14.
The tournament, held at the North Thompson Sportsplex, included two teams from Kamloops, one team from Williams Lake and the Clearwater Icehawks. Despite the extra cold days, all the teams played hard.
The Clearwater U15 Icehawks played against Kamloops and Williams Lake during the weekend’s events.
The Kamloops Pink Panthers followed in second place.
CDMHA’s U18 Tier 4 rep hockey team has had a very successful season so far.
The team is currently in first place in their league with seven teams (West Kelowna Tier 3, Kelowna Tier 3, Merritt Tier 4, Summerland Tier 4, North Okanagan Tier 4 and Spokane Tier 3. They cinched first place after their 9-5 win over Kelowna Saturday, Jan. 13 in Clearwater.
Most recently, the team travelled to Chilliwack on Jan 4-9 to play in a tournament. They placed fourth out of 13 Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams.
Their next league game will be in Merritt on Sunday, Jan. 21.
Next home games will be Sat. Jan. 27 at 6:15 p.m. and Jan. 28 at 10:15 a.m. against North Okanagan.
