Voting for Best of the Valley businesses now open in the North Thompson

The nominations are in and the voting has begun in the first annual Best of the Valley contest in the North Thompson for the Clearwater Times and the Barriere Star/Journal.

Communities in the North Thompson are invited to vote for their favourite businesses, services professionals, community groups and destinations. Community members are welcome to vote once per day in each of the 80 plus categories through to May 12, 2024. For example, this could include Best Place for Dinner, Best New Business, or Best Resort, to name a few. You can vote for your favourite business every day while the contest runs by visiting our contest at: www.barrierestarjournal.com/contests to enter.

“It really is a way to celebrate our business community and give them a big high-five for their services and products,” said Black Press publisher for the South Cariboo-Thompson, Martina Dopf. “Especially given today’s challenges with inflation, staffing shortages and online competition that our businesses are facing, we want to send them some love and appreciation for what they do every day. Our small businesses are the backbone of our economy and they all deserve to be celebrated.”

The winning businesses of the Best of the Valley will receive the bragging rights for being voted the 2024 North Thompson’s #1 Business as well as a sticker for their storefront window and the digital “Voted the North Thompson’s #1 Business” logo to use in their marketing.

Voters will be automatically entered for a chance to win weekend passes to the 2024 North Thompson Fall Fair and BCRA Polaris Championship Rodeo Finals. Winners will be drawn randomly from all entries and will be notified after the contest ends.

The Clearwater Times and Barriere Star/Journal will announce the winners in each category in their May 30 editions.

Get your votes in to show your appreciation for your chosen businesses by May 12, 2024.
