Last weekend began with some figure skaters taking to the ice with a fundraising skate-a-thon on the morning of Oct. 25.

This was followed up by some practice sessions then some family skating time, sponsored by Interior Savings.

The Over 50 group had some time on the ice in the evening and the adult drop-in had some as well on both Friday and Sunday for scrimmages. Saturday found a game with the Clearwater Atom Icehawks vs. the Kamloops Atom Blazers. The stands were holding a large quota from each team and plays on both ends heard roars from the crowd.

The game was tight and saw a victorious home-team win of 6-5 for the Clearwater Atom Icehawks.

Although they could not get a full tournament together the teams utilized the extra ice time allotted with mini-games later on pitting local Atoms versus themselves and Novice against themselves. The weekend finished up on Sunday with some ladies drop-in hockey and that final adult drop-in hockey after the second family skate of the weekend.

There are many practices as well as curling during the week coming up. See you at the rink.
