Riding Club hosts BC Heritage Qualifier

Riders came from Sorrento, Chase, Pritchard, Clearwater, 100 Mile, Kamloops and lots of local entries

Barriere and District Riding Club hosted general performance and schooling shows at the at North Thompson Fair Grounds July 10.

Thanks to the hard work of the folks who organized and promoted the B.C. Heritage Shows in the North Thompson area the two shows hosted by the Barriere and District Riding club so far have been a success and gaining momentum.

The June show went from almost being cancelled to a great success with 19 entries. Riders came from Sorrento, Chase, Pritchard, Clearwater, 100 Mile, Kamloops and lots of local entries. It was great to see so many local kids come out.

Riders were able to participate in western discipline and English classes with all levels and ages.

Our second show was a great success with 29 entries.

Members of the Clearwater 4H Club join us for this show, we had as many as 10 entries in the Junior classes alone. The next largest group was the Green competitors, as many as seven!

Our fabulous judge, Kimberly Westgate, did a great job, providing lots of pointers to all levels of riders in all classes. A very special thank you to Judy Greenwood who was our trail judge.

Thank you to all our volunteers and sponsors.
