Clearwater’s Jean Nelson (l) talks with Mary Ellen Pakka of Sorrento before a cycling event during the 55+ BC Games in Coquitlam last week. The pair, who have known each other for years, were the only competitors in the women’s 80-84 class.

Nelson won a gold in the time trials plus silver in the road race and the hill climb.

Dave Miller of Clearwater brought home a bronze medal from the men’s 80+ golf event.

Sharon March of Little Fort and Ernie Yungen of Barriere won silver medals in carpet bowling pairs. Little Fort carpet bowlers Jack Livingstone, Pete Verhoeven and Linda Verhoeven plus Donna Smith of Barriere participated in the games but did not win any medals.
