Nelson brings home silver

Several athletes from the North Thompson Valley participated in the B.C. Seniors Games in Nelson the weekend before last - and achieved some respectable results

Several athletes from the North Thompson Valley participated in the B.C. Seniors Games in Nelson the weekend before last – and achieved some respectable results.

Clearwater’s Jean Nelson brought home a silver medal after taking second place in the 75 – 79 year old bicycling time trial.

Zelda Copley of Barriere won a first place gold medal in women’s 65 – 69 year old freestyle 400 m swimming. She won a third place bronze in 25 m freestyle swimming, plus two fourth places in 50 m freestyle and in 200 m freestyle.

 

Barriere’s Barb Smith also brought home swimming medals. She won two third place bronze medals in women’s 70 – 74 year old 50 m breaststroke and 25 m breaststroke. She also took fifth place in 25 m freestyle.
