July 14 saw a record number of women out to play golf at Lacarya for ladies' night.

We played a game that was new to most of us. "Casino Night' had us in teams of four, winning playing cards for a variety of things. For example, every time someone hit a tree with her ball she would earn a card for the team. In the end the team with the highest poker hand won. Jan Johnston, Jane Olson, Elaine Magnus and Louise Dalziel made up the winning team. They hit a lot of trees and sand-traps to earn enough to make two royal flushes with their cards!

Regular stroke play prizes were also awarded. In flight 1, Lois van Damme won low gross and Madeline Klassen won low net. Lois also won for KP on #5 and long drive in two shots. Carol Hindle won for long drive and longest putt.

Flight 2 winners were Pat Rayner for low gross and Korinne Isbister for low net. Pat also won KP on #5. Other winners in this flight were Korinne Isbister for long drive, Katie Koldyk for long drive in two shots and Louise Dalziel for the longest putt.

Winners of the skill prizes open to both flights were Marg Anderson for KP on #7, Lois for long putt, Carol for least putts and Jean Nelson for 'most honest' putter. Marg was also pleased to win the deuce pot. It hadn't been won in awhile, so it was a nice pot. The birdie pot is building so one of these weeks will be a big pot for some lucky lady.

PS: Mark your calendars! Our next special ladies' night will be on Aug. 4. We will be playing a two person scramble with a 4:30 shotgun start followed by a buffet dinner. Come out and enjoy an evening of fun and good food.
