There was a fantastic turnout for Ladies Night at Lacarya on June 11. A total of 21 ladies took part and most were able to stay for dinner and the social part of the evening. The weather looked threatening at the end of the front 9 with rain clouds passing overhead and the wild wind gusts. However, the sun persisted and we all finished the back 9 in the soft light of early evening. Welcome back to Deanna Pendergast who we have not seen on the course for several years. As you will see, she had a great game.
The winners this week were: for Flight #1: Deanna Pendergast - low gross, KP, long putt, and Long Drive in 2; Debbie Pearce - low net, Long Drive. Flight #2: Madeline Klassen - low gross; Marg Anderson - low net, Long Drive and Long Drive in 2 (nice drive); Katie Koldyk – KP; Larissa Hadley - long putt. For Flight #3: Anna Mae Dee - low gross; Daisy Hystad - Low net (by retro) and KP; Reita Vandenborre - Long drive; Abbey Bates - long putt and Korrine Isbister - long drive in 2. Lois Vandamme made the KP on #7. Daisy had the longest putt for all flights, Madeline had the least putts and Stephanie Turner had the most putts (by retro). Reita’s drive was the closest to the windmill on #2. Joan Slingsby, Carol Hindle and Korrine Isbister owned up and received a new ball to replace the one they hit into the pond on #4.
