It was an interesting round of golf last week – heavy smoke in the air and the sun was a huge red ball. We had 19 ladies out for golf.

The special game was “Fairways and Greens.” Each golfer received five points for each tee shot that hit the fairway. One point was removed for each putt it took to put the ball in the hole.

We had only six ladies stay for dinner. It must be getting near the end of the golf season.

Sept. 14 will be the last Ladies Night before the season windup and club championship on Sept. 23. Please sign up now for the club championship.

The winners from the Aug. 31 (week 18) Ladies Night and special game “Cry Baby” were:

Flight #1: Deanna Pendergast – lo crybaby, KP#5; Tanya Dejarlais – #2 lo crybaby; Carol Hindle – long drive; Sheila Colter – long putt; Jen Cleveland – biggest crybaby.

Flight #2: Joan Streadwick – lo crybaby, long drive, long putt; Jan Johnston – #2 lo crybaby, KP#5; Abbey Bates – biggest crybaby.

Flight #3: Marie Giesbrecht – lo crybaby; Jean Nelson – KP#5; Hazel Wadlegger – long drive; Carol McNeil – long putt; Judy Panko – biggest crybaby.

Tanya had the longest putt for all flights and there was no KP on #7. Jane Olson had the least putts (good putting) and Judy was the most honest putter. Jean received a new ball for the one she put into pond on hole #1.

The Chip In pot is carried over again. Deanna was the only winner of the Birdie Pot this week.

Call Carol (674–8771) or Jane (587–6290) if you have any questions about Ladies Night.
