Having fun at Ladies Golf Night

One would think it was high summer rather than the first of May

Driving down the highway to the golf course one would think it was high summer rather than the first of May.

The valley had that hot smoky haze that is all too common in the late summer. However, the sun still blazed through the haze and there were discussions on the best sunscreen to use. Some of us even got a start on our tans. We had another new golfer, Linda Miller, come out. Great to see one of our regulars out again. Welcome back, Eileen Sedgwick.

The winners for this week: Carole Hindle cleaned up in flight #1 winning long drive, long putt and gross score. Well done Carole. Debbie Pearce won the prize for lowest net in flight #1. For flight #2, Anna Mae – closest to pin on hole #5 and low gross score, Marg Anderson- long drive, Larissa Hadley- longest put, and Jan Johnson- low net; for flight #3: Cleo Swartz- long drive and low gross, Linda Miller- long putt, Abbey Bates and Rosemary Harley tied for low net score.

Rosemary had the most putts and Carol Hindle had the least. Cleo and Rosemary were the closest to the windmill. Larissa measured it out so we know it was close. Abbey, Linda, Daisy and Larissa received new shiny golf balls for losing one of their own in the pond on hole #4. Jan Johnson won the special game by having the best poker hand.

To all the newer golfers out there we would love to see you out on Ladies Night. I’m sure Linda Miller thought that golf is a great way to spend an evening. Remember to call 587-6100 to book your tee time.
