Fishing Report: Locums take time out for river float

Spring fishing on the North Thompson River has been good, casting lures and using roe.

Two locum doctors recently enjoyed river floats. Benoit Parrot hooked a 16.11 lb dolly. David Skinner hooked into a 10.3 lb dolly. Gibbs Crocs were working well.

We will probably have to wait until the North Thompson recedes to get good fishing again.

Clearwater River does not open until July 15 above the old Clearwater bridge.

Adams Lake was good on the surface with plugs and apexs. Adams has come up considerably with run off and anglers now have to go deeper for fish. Birch and Lac Des Roches lakes are starting to produce fish.

Dutch has been slow with a few kokanee and rainbow being caught. Clearwater, Azure, Smith, Placid, Alice and Shadow Lakes are starting to get fish in the park. TFL lakes seem to be a couple of weeks later for good fishing compared to this time last year.
