A total of 18 teams took part in this year’s Interior Savings/M&M Meat Shops Ladies Invitational Curling Bonspiel the weekend before last at the Merritt Curling Club. Two of five teams from out of town went away winners.

In the “A” final, it was the Leslie Downs rink from Clearwater over the local Carrie Ellingsen foursome, while the “B” final went to the Sue Stankevech quartet from Kamloops over Karen Gross’s team from Merritt. In an all-Nicola Valley “C” final, Lois Ward’s rink edged a team skipped by Shelley Sanders.

Bonspiel convenor Diane Twan was very pleased with this year’s event, which had a ‘James Bond’ theme for the Saturday night social. The three winning teams were presented with Merritt Curling Club jackets, vests and shirts respectively.
