Bike Week is coming up next week! As in past years, the District of Clearwater’s community recreation healthy living program is encouraging everyone to get out and ride their bikes to school, work, volunteer duties, errands and just for fun!

• Bike to Work, May 14 – 20: Grab a co-worker or more and sign up as a team, or register as an individual. Track your distances and the teams with the most kilometres (average of kilometres per number of teammates) wins! Awesome prizes and bragging rights for the winners! Register by emailing healthyliving@docbc.ca or call Eleanor at 250-674-2257.

• Bike Train, May 16: Meet at Rotary Skateboard Park at 7:50 a.m. Bike Train leaves at 8 a.m. Estimated arrival at Raft River Elementary at 8:30 a.m. Bring your bike and wear your helmet! Parents, guardians, grandparents also welcome and encouraged to participate!

• RCMP Bike Rodeo, May 16: The RCMP will be hosting their annual Bike Rodeo at Raft River Elementary starting at 8:50 a.m. Ride to School with the Bike Train or have your bike and helmet dropped off in front of the school in the morning. Each class will take part in a safety check, obstacle course and more! There will be prize draws and lots of fun!

• Bike to School, May 16 – 19: All Raft River Elementary and Clearwater Secondary students! Ride your bikes to school every day during the week and enter your name in the grand prize draw in the office every time you ride your bike to school! Names will be drawn at the end of the week.
