A small forest fire spotted north of Vavenby on Saturday afternoon has grown quickly. The fire is located 
near Montana Creek Forest Service Road a few kilometres from town. It was first seen around 2:30 p.m. Some of the photos show a helicopter attempting to control it. The fire is clearly visible from the centre of Vavenby.
