Editor, The Times:

This past weekend we camped in Wells Gray Park. We've been going there for the last 30 years and were pleasantly surprised to see some improvements and changes since our last visit three years ago.

Last week while checking Clearwater Lake Tours website I read about the Voyageur Canoe trips that the tour company is sponsoring all summer. We went on the trip Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A minimum of six people is required, and only four had signed up, so I asked around to get more people. There doesn't appear to be any notices or advertisements in Wells Gray about this wonderful opportunity. Every day at 5:30 until Sept. 15 a one-hour guided trip is available for six-10 people. Interested persons need to put their name on a list at Clearwater Lake Tours at the north end of the Clearwater Lake Provincial Campground.

The trip leaves from the canoe launch a few kilometers up the road. The 45-minute trail from the campsite is very interesting for those with the energy and time, or the other alternative is to drive up.

Both local and overseas visitors would enjoy getting out on the water in the lovely big voyageur canoe. Spread the word.
