Editor, The Times:

Clearwater and district will be celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary on July 1 at Dutch Lake Park.

We will start the day at 11 a.m. with an exhibition by the Rhythm Riders across from the lake.

A barbecue at the lake will start at 11a.m., with hamburgers hot dogs, smokies, pulled pork and beverages being served.

Cake, ice cream treats and watermelon will be served at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Food and music will be by donation with proceeds going to park improvements. There will be lots of activities on the beach for all, with games and prizes, face-painting and crafts.

Bring your dancing shoes, or not, for a contest and warm-up.

There will be a frisbee throwing contest, with frisbees available for all kids. There will be a hula hoop exhibition by Haley Tromp that you will not want to miss.

Also planned are a bit of Limbo and lots of beach activities with noodles, tubes and other water crafts.

Please bring your canoe, kayak or paddle-board and share an experience with some of our visitors who would appreciate a chance to try these activities.

Bring your family, friends, chairs, appetite and enthusiasm and enjoy a day at our beach.

For any information, call Ken at 250 674 1359. See you at the lake.

Watch for our ad in next week’s Times.
