Plenty of proof for global warming

The other day someone claimed that the week or so of cold weather proves there is no global warming

Editor, The Times:

The other day someone claimed that the week or so of cold weather in the North Thompson proves there is no global warming.

Never mind that in the summer the Northwest Passage is wide open to shipping. And if one wants to take an ore carrier through the Northeast Passage, you give the Russians an obscene pile of rubles for the use of one of their atomic-powered icebreakers and away you go. It’s still a lot cheaper than the alternate route.

In Antarctica, great shelves of ice have calved, hitting the water with a great roar and the splash scaring the penguins and seals half to death.

In California, great fires consumed a good part of that state and were virtually unstoppable until the rains came. The rain then caused horrendous slides and devastation when those areas stripped by fire of their vegetation started to move. Chaos all around.

Water has poured into the subways of New York, plus the streets of Houston and Miami. When it is hot or hotter, the ice melts and the waters rise. And they are doing so in all the seven seas.

Yet 10 days of cold in the North Thompson proves that global warming is a hoax? Something pulled over our eyes to destroy the profits of big energy and the economy in general?

So what sources of information do these climate change deniers fall back on? Too much Duck Dynasty or Say Yes To The Dress. I know all that great cleavage can be a distraction but it shouldn’t lead to climate change denial!

Look around you!
