Editor, The Times:

Once again the citizens of Clearwater and District have shown their generosity towards the less fortunate.

During the week of June 7 - 11, grocery bags donated by our local Safety Mart were delivered to approximately 930 homes in the area with an attached note stating that if they wished to contribute, they could put their donations in the bag and leave in a visible location on the following Saturday morning for pick-up.

More than 340 bags were collected full of non-perishable food items.

This equates to approximately 4,100 food items weighing over 1,700 lb. (750 kg).

These donations help the Food Bank provide over 70 nutritional hampers to needy individuals (many of them children) each month.

Clearwater and District Food Bank offers its deepest thanks to all the volunteers who helped with this project and its sincere gratitude to those who gave so generously.

Anyone who was missed can still contribute by taking his or her donation directly to the Food Bank at #1 - 742 Clearwater Village Rd.

Well done, citizens of Clearwater and District.
