Editor;
I had the privilege of watching the revival of an old tradition in Clearwater, that of the May Day parade. A fine parade it was and enjoyed by many spectators.
Blackpool fire engines, Clearwater fire engines, Search & Rescue, vintage cars and some interesting floats, even a couple dummies paddling a canoe. The new parade route made the green belt at the old shopping centre, a perfect viewing place. The day was fair, and shade was available for most viewers. For twenty minutes it rained candy to the children and some adults’ delight.
A massive thanks go out to councilor Braaten, Valley Pride and Carrie Ebby for renewing this tradition delight.
All elements cooperated to make it a wonderful May Day.
I certainly enjoyed it and like many others appreciated the experience.
