The Graduation class of 2010-2011 of Clearwater Secondary School are nearing the end of their school days. For many this is the next step to a bigger school or time to enter the work force.
This is a time of celebration and a feeling of completion as they prepare for the next stage in life as young responsible adults.
As early as December 2010, a dedicated group of parents of the grads started up a committee to plan year end, in celebration of their successes.
Grads had their own meetings and together activities were planned with the effort and commitment to raise the necessary funds. A dry grad trip was planned and with volunteers from the community and a lot of hard work from the grads and parents the students will enjoy many activities together that emphasize social responsibility, physical and mental well being. Parents did the planning and location as a surprise for the grads.
Sergeant Sieb attended a parent-grad
meeting and made it clear that underage drinking is against the law and bush parties with underage drinkers is fully illegal.
The grads have organized a prom and dance that is run by parents and will take place in the CSS gymnasium. Much effort has gone into the organizing of this event – from insurance, decorations, food, making invitations, organizing music, flowers, and the list goes on. It is expected our youth of Clearwater will have a wonderful celebration with family and friends on their graduation.
Thank you so much to Clearwater, teachers, parents, grads of 2011 for aiding in a healthy celebration of CSS grads this year. You have supported your child throughout their school years and went out of your way to attend meetings, plan and co-ordinate a graduation to be remembered.
