From our archives in 2012 - Ed Buck Manor officially opens

A premiers luncheon took place on Nov. 9 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Clearwater. The lunch was hosted by the two Chamber of Commerce organizations in the North Thompson from Clearwater and Barriere in the territory of Simpcw First Nation.

Chamber presidents, Jeff Lamond of Clearwater, and Scott Kershaw of Barriere welcomed the premier and luncheon attendees sponsoring a luncheon hosted by the Clearwater and District Chamber and the Barriere Chamber. Simpcw First Nation Chief Rita Matthew officially welcomed the gathering to the Simpcw traditional territory.  Matthew said she was very happy about the good relationship the communities in the area have as they work together on current projects and planning for the future.

A ribbon cutting with the premier was later held at Evergreen Acres Seniors Housing to dedicate the newest additional housing units at Ed Buck Manor in memory of long time chair of Evergreen, Ed Buck.
