Food bank appreciates help from community

Clearwater and District Food Bank provided 752 hampers this last holiday season

Editor, The Times:

Clearwater and District Food Bank would like to thank the community for its support over the past year.

Clearwater and District Food Bank provided 752 hampers this last holiday season. These hampers contain an average of 65 items each and were provided to residents from Blue River to Round Top.

Without the support of the community this would not have been possible. The food bank is operated solely by its approximately 15 volunteers and relies entirely on donations. The hard work of our community members provides the food bank with the donations and the funds it needs to operate.

The spring food drive and the Christmas concert are the main fundraisers for the food bank. Many community members participate in both of these activities.

The food bank would like to thank:

• All the gardeners who provided produce over the summer;

• The drivers and their assistants for the work they did during the spring food drive;

• Thompson-Nicola Regional District, District of Clearwater, North Thompson Artists Guild, and the many others who assisted with the Christmas concert; and

• The many people who made private donations of food and money.

Without this support it would not be possible to provide this service to the community.
