Flea market has something for everyone

Have fun – it's great to spend very little and come home with lots of treasures

Editor, The Times:

Everything AND the kitchen sink! Yes, there is often clothing and it is typically very affordable. Flea markets have stands that are operated by professional folks who do the sales for a living (or for supplemental money) and by everyday folks who don't want to have a private garage sale.

Consequently, you can find just about anything at a flea market. Many times you can find stuff with the labels and price tags still on them because lots of us purchase things and then change our minds about them and don't return them, instead opting for selling them through consignment or something.

Have fun – it's great to spend very little and come home with lots of treasures. The semi-spontaneous nature and vendor-oriented open-market layouts of flea markets usually differentiate them from thrift stores and farmer markets.

Clearwater Community Flea Market is held every Saturday at the Clearwater Country Inn grounds (east end of Clearwater on the highway). Look for tents and tables with numerous treasures and fabulous pricing.

New vendors are welcome; call 250-674-2700 for more information. You can sell anything except food items, as we have a good restaurant nearby with fabulous specials and breakfast all day.

Vendors must supply their own tents and tables. Set up is usually at 8 a.m. and the hours for the market are 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

This is the first year for our Community Flea Market and welcome more venders. It is a fun-filled and enjoyable event to rid yourself of items that you may not need. They say one man's junk is another man's treasure. Looking forward to the rest of the summer.
