A small step to help save North Thompson communities

Editor, The Times:

This letter is to primarily thank the local leadership and the provincial government for a cooperative effort to help save the North Thompson communities.

In particular Mayor Blackwell and his council for their forceful advocating for this region and the provincial government for having passed Bill 22 that requires government approval for the sale of timber cutting rights between companies.

Thank you, Mayor Blackwell, and thank you, Minister Donaldson, for finally standing up for valley people against corporate greed. As Mayor, Blackwell says, the deal is far from perfect, but we can live with it.

Wes Morden,

Blackpool, B.C.
