Clearwater Food Bank relocates

The food bank move on July 15 was a great success

Editor, The Times

The food bank move on July 15 was a great success.  A big thank-you is owed to the members of the Clearwater community, young and old, who helped out.  They know who they are.

After many happy years with Chris and Frank Tonge in the Raft River building, our new location is directly across the street in the Fireweed Forestry building at 741 Clearwater Village Road.  Our new digs include a larger office and adjacent warehouse.

Regretfully, we can no longer provide a recycling receptacle at our door. For those of you who used to drop off their cans and bottles and who wish to continue to donate recyclables, the Bottle Depot has an account set up for the Food Bank that raised over $700 last year.

We would like to send out a special thank-you to Larry Pendergast for the super-quick work on some additional shelving and to Gerry ‘Tis Toons’ Tisdale for the great signage. Both donated their time, talent and material.

To celebrate our new location and to give everyone a clearer idea of what we do and what goes into providing monthly hampers, we will have an Open House on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Anyone who is interested, please come and have a look. We would love to show you around.  Light refreshments will be provided.
