Chamber of Commerce awards accolades

The Chamber of Commerce executive would like to recognize all those who came out to the 51st Gala Awards evening

Editor, The Times:

The Chamber of Commerce executive would like to recognize all those who came out to the 51st Gala Awards evening. A big round of applause to our young musicians: Jenna Zietsov, Sheldon Musselman, Leevon LeVasseur and Lynette MacKenzie. We also acknowledge Heather Steere for her exceptional video presentation on Wells Gray Park. Robyn Kreke generously donated several framed photographs that were auctioned with proceeds going to the Food Bank.

No evening would ever be complete without the wonderful, warm-hearted company of Ken Kjenstad, who continually reminds us that life is good but even better when shared with friends and community. Bonnie and Jeff Ruttan and the whole staff at the Wells Gray Inn went out of their way to make this evening a success. District of Clearwater generously donated awards and certificates and Penny Harper donated her time.

Award sponsors were District of Clearwater, Royal Bank, Joanne Ovenden Accounting, Home Hardware, Rona, Jim’s Food Market, Wells Gray Inn, Clear Water Dollar Emporium and Blackwell Park Operations.

The evening was filled with laughs and appreciation along with the opportunity to pay tribute to many good businesses and community members. The Gala serves as a reminder that our community is filled with good people and businesses that make Clearwater a wonderful place to live. Congratulations to all who were nominated. We appreciate your continued contributions.

We were also glad to have the company of Lloyd and Jean Strickland. Thank you for coming and thank you for graciously accepting our small token of appreciation for your years of commitment to the North Thompson Valley.

There are many new things on the horizon for the Clearwater and District Chamber of Commerce and we hope that you might save Wednesday, Dec. 14, when the Chamber will host a Mix and Jingle from 5.30 - 6.30 p.m. at the Clearwater Lodge followed by our AGM at 7 p.m.
