Boulder Mtn Fibre Arts plans World Wide Knit in Public Day

World Wide Knit in Public Day was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes and is the largest knitter run event in the world. Knitters have joined in local events all over the world and in 2005, there were 25 local events which grew to 751 in 2009. Not only grannies knit. Without those grannies, we wouldn’t have the wealth of knitting knowledge that we do. Everyone is welcome to come and knit, share ideas and enjoy the fresh air. WWKIP Day is about showing the general public that knitting can be a community activity and if knitters haven’t had a chance to interact, they can come together in one place.

WWKIP now takes place from the second Saturday to the third Sunday of June each year. Boulder Mtn Fibre Arts will be hosting World Wide Knit in Public Day on June 9, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Bandshell in Fadear Park. Bring your knitting, a chair, appropriate clothing for the weather, sunblock, lunch, drinks, or snacks, and a smile. There will be a concession stand. Music will also accompany us while we enjoy our time together. Questions and answers are also welcome.
