Bill Varadi passed away suddenly at his home in Clearwater, BC, on June 8, 2008. He was 57 years of age. Born in Mercoal, Alberta, on December 4, 1950, Bill is survived by his sons, Gerry (Sammi Jo) and Darryl (Olivia) of Drayton Valley, AB; his sister Carol (Gary) Simmons and family of Edson, AB; his common-law spouse Cindy Mickey of Clearwater, BC, and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, John and Olga, his wife, Carol and his sister, Eileen.
Before he retired, Bill spent 20 years as the owner of a trucking business in the oilfield. He had a passion for gold mining. Bill was a kind and loving man with a good sense of humour.
A memorial service for Bill Varadi was held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Foothills Memorial Chapel in Edson, Alberta, with Kim Roy officiating. Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery in Edson. Donations in memory of William Varadi to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of choice, would be appreciated.
