BELCHAM, William Archibald Keane

Sept. 21, 1916 — June 16, 2008

On Monday, June 16, 2008 Mr. William Archibald Keane Belcham passed away peacefully at Forest View Place, Clearwater at the age of 91 years.

He is survived by his wife Eugennie and her family; his daughter Maryanne (Wayne Hopkins) of Kelowna and his four sons Robert of White Rock, David (Ann) of Pouce Coupe, Douglas (Jackie) of 108 Mile Ranch and Kenneth (Sai) of Surrey and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bill was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years Nora Elizabeth and his daughter in law Joanne Belcham.

Bill was born in Kamloops on September 21, 1916. He grew up in Rayleigh where he and his father opened the first post office. In 1948 he moved to Little Fort to start ranching. He also operated the Little Fort Ferry for 17 years. Bill was a very active member of the community, where he was involved in the North Thompson Fall Fair, Barriere school board and the Clearwater hospital board. Fishing was a favourite pastime which he enjoyed very much.

Bill loved his family very much and will be dearly missed.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the Little Fort Hall with Reverend Sandra Sugden officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Fort Cemetery.
