Vivian Milda Kingelin passed away Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater, BC. Born in Pouce Coupe, BC on December 26, 1935, she will be sadly missed by Leo, her loving husband of 48 years; her daughter Lynne (Pat Mayer) Frizzle of Clearwater BC; sons Ken Kingelin of Apia, Samoa and Rob (Valerie) Kingelin of Kelowna BC; mother Milda Walker of Kamloops BC; grandchildren Kari (Bal Risma) Frizzle of Squamish BC, Craig (Robyn Reekie) Frizzle of Burnaby BC, Kurtis Kingelin of Kelowna BC, Jeffrey Kingelin of Kelowna BC; sister Sylvia (Lance) Rose of Kamloops BC; brothers Jerry Walker of Kamloops, Larry Walker of Kelowna, Bill Walker and Ron Walker, both of Timmins ON. Vivian was predeceased by her father Bill Walker Sr. and her brother Charles Walker.
Vivian settled in Clearwater in 1963. She cared greatly about her family and friends as well as the community. Vivian worked at the Clearwater Improvement District for 22 years. After she retired she volunteered at the Baby Clinic and at the hospital’s Gift Shop. She enjoyed attending Evergreen Acres Caring and Sharing days and assisted other seniors who needed transportation to various places. She had a special place in her heart for her carpet bowler team.
Vivian loved her garden and she adored her grandchildren. In her later years she took great interest in the internet as a tool to allow her to stay connected with her family. Up to the moment she took her last breath, Vivian worried and cared about people; this included her family and the staff at Dr. Helmcken Hospital. Vivian will be greatly missed.
Following cremation, a Memorial Service for Vivian took place on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 259 in Clearwater. Pastor Lloyd Strickland officiated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, 73 Taren Drive, Clearwater, BC, V0E 1N0, Ph. 674-3030.
