Virginia (Lois) Moss passed away peacefully on Oct. 4, 2004 in Birch Island. Lois was born in Victoria, B.C. on July 26, 1925, to Jessie Darling Morry (d. 1998) and William Sweetland Morry (d. 1952). Lois was predeceased by her husband Geordie (d. 1994), her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Sam Couthard (d. 1999), and her son Dennis (d. 2004). Lois is survived and lovingly remembered by her son Danny (Marilynn), daughter-in-law Linda, grandchildren Curtis, Michael, Kelly and Bobbi (Richard), brothers Bill (Jean) Morry and Mike (Val) Morry. Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and her many friends will feel the loss of this great lady.
Lois came to Birch Island to teach school in 1944. She met and married Geordie in 1947. Except for a short time in the early 1950s, they raised their family and resided on Canyon Creek Ranch in Birch Island. Lois loved her many community activities, teaching, volunteering, school board, hospital board, WI, church, square dancing, drama, arts and creative writing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the little church in Birch Island (St. Paul and St. John Anglican Church). Memorial service was held at Moss’s Pond on Canyon Creek Ranch, 1552 McCracken Road, Birch Island at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004.
