Cederholm, Verna
Verna Cederholm passed away peacefully at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm on
Monday, August 28, 2006 at the age of 78 years.
Verna was born in Bittern Lake, SK on June 11, 1928 to Gerald and Mary
Gibson. They moved to Avola, BC when Verna was eight years old. There
she met and married Roy Cederholm.
Roy and Verna moved to the Salmon Arm area in 1952 to work and raise their
family. Verna took great joy in her family. She was a homemaker who
enjoyed canning, knitting, crocheting, sewing and attending to a large
vegetable garden. Verna found time in her busy schedule to volunteer for
the IWA Women's Institute.
Verna was predeceased by her husband, Roy in 1993, her parents, sister
Vivien and nephew Douglas. She will be lovingly remembered by her
children, Barb Hillson, Don Cederholm (Bonnie), Mel Cederholm (Jenny),
Larry Cederholm (Leona), Gloria Durrant and Del Cederholm; 18
grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren;
brothers, Royce and Carmen and sister, Frances. She will also be sadly
missed by Spike and Margaret Cederholm.
A Celebration of Life service was held from the Chapel of Bowers Funeral
Home on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. with Jack Bowers
officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Verna may be made
to Bastion Place, 700 - 11th Street, NE, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4P9.
