November 12, 2018
Sadly, we announce the passing of Steve Earland Peterson on Monday November 12, 2018, at the age of 93.5 years.

Steve loved hunting and fishing, spending hours exploring logging roads, and telling stories of times past. In his earlier years, he farmed with a team of horses and worked as a commercial fisherman in Lac La Biche, AB. When Steve moved to Blackpool in the 1970's, he worked as a saw filer at the mill in Vavenby and built a thriving fruit and vegetable stand.

Steve was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and son Alvin. Steve and Mary were known for their love of square dancing and wonderful gardens, often framed in sunflowers.

Survived by his son Ron, stepsons Dave (Maureen), Craig (Anne), granddaughters Alison and Naomi (Brian), nephews Bob (Gwendolyn), Raymond (Darleen), Vernon (Barbara), niece Maureen (Morley), cousin Adele (Glen), and great grandchildren Matthew and Katelynn.

Steve will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him.

Many thanks to the staff at Helmcken Memorial hospital, Ponderosa Lodge, and especially to the dedicated home support workers who made it possible for Steve to live in his home, with his faithful golden retriever Maggie. Thank you for the kind support demonstrated by the staff of Drake Cremation & Funeral Services.

Steve will be laid to rest beside Mary on Tuesday November 20th, 2018 at 2 pm in the Clearwater cemetery.

There will be no service as per Steve's request.
