HANSEN, Ruth
Nov. 18, 1914 – Aug. 4, 2006
Ruth Hansen passed away at Royal Inland Hospital. Kamloops BC on August 4, 2006. She was 91 years of age.
Born Ruth Wolverton in Tawatinaw Alberta, she moved to Little Fort BC with her parents as a young girl. She met and married Ingard Hansen and the young couple settled in East Blackpool BC where they raised their children.
Shortly after Ingard passed away, Ruth took her children to Barriere in 1960. She remained a resident of that community for 46 years, until declining health prompted a move to Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops earlier this year.
Ruth is survived by her four children Marilyn (Everett) Wilson of Longview AB, Ray (Karen) Hansen of Vernon BC, Danel Hansen of Barriere BC, and David Hansen of Calgary AB, plus numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Ruth dedicated herself as a housewife and mother. She liked to visit with people. She enjoyed reading and watching television, as well as caring for her flowers and plants. Ruth had a very good memory; she kept everyone’s birthday clearly in her mind.
Following cremation, there will be a Graveside Service for Ruth at the Barriere Cemetery on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Lance Naylor officiating. Friends and family are invited to the service and to gather afterwards at Pentecostal Christian Life Assembly, 4818 Annesty Rd. (across from the High School), Barriere, for refreshments.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, 73 Taren Drive, Box 2404 RR2, Clearwater, BC, V0E 1N0, ph. 1-877-674-3030.
