Apr 14, 2018
It is with heavy hearts we announce that Robert Phillips Enfield died peacefully in Courtenay B.C. on April 14, 2018, at the age of 63.

Rob is survived by his children, Alex (Mary-Jane) and Sarah Enfield, and his brother Lawrence (Charlene) and sister Julie Enfield. He is also survived by his numerous nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his parents, Frank Enfield and Jessica (Jessie) Rathbone (nee Phillips).

Rob was born in Ottawa, O.N., living between there and Toronto until the age of 21 when, being a lover of nature, he got into a car and travelled to B.C. on his honeymoon. That love of the outdoors would also result in the 30+ years he would spend working as a Registered Professional Forester for the Ministry of Forests, primarily in Clearwater B.C., where he raised his two beloved children with Jackie (nee Kane).

He was a devoted father to Sarah and Alex, always encouraging them in their endeavours; he took great pride in their many distinct accomplishments. After retiring from the Ministry of Forests, Rob continued to strive towards his own goals and went on to become a passionate L.P. Nurse.

An avid sportsman all his life, he enjoyed alpine and nordic skiing in the mountains of B.C., while his love of scuba diving recently took him on an extraordinary six-thousand km solo auto-trek through Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Guatemala, and on to Honduras, where he fulfilled his life-long dream of exploring the famous reefs of Roatan.

Rob, and his sense of humour and adventure, will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

A service will be held at a later date.
