Robert Rempel passed away suddenly near Waterloo, ON, on Sunday, November 11, 2007. He was 49 years of age. Born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, Robert grew up in Clearwater, BC; he attended high school in Clearwater and began a career in carpentry, before moving to Ontario in the 1980’s.

Robert is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Rempel, his father, Dick Rempel, sisters Elizabeth (Alvin)Traub and Marie (Jim)Janzen, brothers Deitrich (Elaine), James (Dolly), Jack, and David (Jacquie), plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents.

As a young man, Robert attended church, he also loved hunting and fishing, and demonstrated a wonderful talent for art, which he maintained throughout his life. He was a very cheerful and happy person. He liked to give small gifts to those around him, as a way for them to remember him. The first such gift that he gave to his mother was a picture of roses in a vase; Robert gave this to her when he was only five years old.

A Memorial Service for Robert Rempel was held on Saturday, November 24, 2004 at the Elks Hall in Clearwater, with Lloyd Strickland officiating. The family would encourage donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Robert’s memory.
