Reuben "Bud" Joneson

July 2, 2018

Reuben (Bud) Joneson was born on May 8, 1943 in Lindale, Alberta to Reuben and Dorothy Joneson. Bud had six sisters: Lillian, Hazel, Ruby, Margaret, Gladys and Reenie. One very cold day in February 1948 the Joneson family moved to Clearwater where Bud lived for his remaining years.

Bud's first job was piling lumber for Clearwater Timber Products where he spent many years with the company doing various jobs. After a work place accident Bud changed jobs and became a tow truck driver/mechanic. His working career as a sanitation driver ended when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Bud married Sadie in Clearwater and had four children: William, Susan, Quentin and George. In 1993 Bud met Shirley and expanded his family with stepson Michael.

Bud is survived by his partner Shirley along with his children: Susan (Denny) Sarton - grandchildren Jordane (Troy), Kaitlynn (Chris) and Victoria (Hayden). Quentin (Tammy) Joneson - grandchildren Cody and Derrick; George (Tammy) Joneson - grandchildren Zoey, Dawson, and Ollie; Stepson Michael (Danielle) Joneson.

Bud is also survived by his sisters Ruby, Marg (Jack), Reenie (Howard) and numerous nieces and nephews. Bud is predeceased by his son William, parents Reuben and Dorothy, sisters Lillian, Hazel, Gladys, multiple nieces, nephews and one great granddaughter.

Bud absolutely loved nature. His passion for hunting and fishing started at a very young age. He was the happiest when he was on the water after that elusive trout or tracking a deer or moose.

Bud had a quiet faith and a deep love for his family and community. If a mechanic was needed Bud was the man to call and he willingly gave his time and help. He always had a cheery hello for everyone.

Bud also enjoyed music and playing his guitar.
