Reginald Maxwell “Reg” Chambers passed away at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater BC, on Aug 14, 2006, after a brief illness. He was 72 years of age.


Left to mourn his passing are his wife Hilde (nee Beyer), children Michael (Trish), Susan (Luc), Nicole (Dave), Karolyn (Dave) and Doug (Nadeane), his sister Eunice (Ab), plus numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many dear friends.


Reg was born in Elgin, Manitoba. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the war in Korea.

Reg and Hilde moved to Clearwater in 1971 where Reg took a job with Weyerhauser; he retired in 1998. Over the years, Reg spent much time serving members of the community. For two terms he was President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #259 in Vavenby/Clearwater. He was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal.


Most recently, Reg was the recipient of Clearwaterís Person of the Year Award. During his lifetime Reg enjoyed curling, golfing and fishing. He was a very good friend to many people and helped many people in need.


Following cremation a Memorial Service will be held for Reg at the Royal Canadian Legion in Clearwater on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Legion Padre Lloyd Strickland and Pastor Dan Daase will officiate. In Regís memory, the family would appreciate donations to Dr. Helmcken Hospital, Clearwater, BC or to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #259 Clearwater.
