In loving memory

Peter Ian Davidson

March 6, 1931 — June 8, 2008

It is with our deepest regrets we announce the passing of Peter Ian Davidson, born March 6, 1931 and of 9410 Chemanius Road, Chemanius, B.C. V0R 1K5.

Ian (Dad) was called home to the Lord on Sunday June 8, 2008 at home, as he had requested, with his family at his side. Ian was born at Blackfaulds, Alberta. He spent his working career in Clearwater, (Blackpool) B.C., prior to moving to Qualicum Beach. Ian was predeceased by his father Francis, and mother Beatrice, brother Don and sister Sue. He is survived by his loving wife Betty of 58 years; sister, Annie and husband Bob Simpson; brother Bunny (Malcolm) and wife Shirley; sister-in-law Ann; daughter Mary-ann and husband Rob Millard of Chemanius; sons, David and wife Lynn of Nanaimo, and Alan and wife Beverly of Calgary. Grandchildren: Bobby, Melanie, Johnny, Steven, Jolene, Tim, Dave, and Travis and their extended families; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great grandchildren, including the most recent love of his life, Brittany Ann, age two-and-a-half. Dad adored and loved all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were his inspiration in the last few years.

Ian touched the hearts and minds of all the people he met. He went through life with the determination and perseverance second to none. Ian’s philosophy of life gave him the strength to never give up, never complain, for life was the most precious gift of all.

A memorial service in his honour of remembrance was held at the Qualicum Beach Community Baptist Church, 600 Beach Road, Qualicum Beach, B.C. at 2 p.m., Saturday June 14, 2008. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to medical research of your choice.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the medical staff to the Intensive Care Unit at Cowichan District Hospital (Duncan). They went beyond the service level of expectations for Dad during his stay. A special thank you to Dads Pastor, Allan Walker, who made many trips during the last two weeks.
