Patricia Ann "Pat"
SABISTON
Pat Sabiston was born in Owen Sound, Ontario, on May 13, 1933. She passed away in Clearwater, BC on August 2, 2009 at 76 years of age, after a brave struggle with cancer. Pat leaves behind her children, Stephanie Elderton of Victoria, BC, Gregory (Jaime) Yeomans of Vavenby, BC, Amanda (Peter) Yeomans of Vancouver, BC, and Jillian Yeomans, also of Vancouver, BC, her grandchildren Lee, Nicholas, Trevor, Elizabeth and Meghan, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends. Pat was predeceased by her parents, George and Phoebe Folster.
Pat loved the creative side of life. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and was an accomplished and skilled photographer. She loved to sew, and her wine making skills produced many trophies. A sample of her photographs can be seen on the walls at the local hospital and at the secondary school. Pat loved to produce fine art work, but she felt uncomfortable with the business side of art; she didn't like to put a price tag on her creations. She was one of the founders of Arts Alive -- a great passion for her -- and she was the editor of a locally produced book.
An informal Celebration of Life for Pat Sabiston will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 2705 Peavine Road, Vavenby, BC. Arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, Clearwater, BC, tel.: 250-674-3030
