On July 15, 2006 Nina “Mom” passed away at Kamloops Senior’s Village.


Nina “Mom” is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bob, and her daughters Sandy Rayner and Jan (Adrian) Damini; son in-law Bob Haywood; grandchildren Jesse (Cathy), Julie (Jason), Aaron (Tami), Darryl (Melissa), Brett (Michelle), Tanya (Mark), and Brock. She also leaves 15 great grandchildren to date, and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was predeceased by her eldest daughter Shirley Haywood, her father Preston MacLeod, mother Belle MacLeod, brother Glenwood MacLeod and sister Annie Carr.


Nina “Mom” was born on March 30, 1926 at the family farm in Park Corner, PEI. After completing a business course, Nina “Mom” moved to Moncton NB, where she met and married Bob on September 6, 1944. In December 1945, they moved to Malakwa BC where they began their family life. Mom and Dad lived in various interior BC communities before settling and re-settling in Kamloops.


The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses and care providers at Kamloops Senior’s Village.


The Funeral Service was held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 21, 2006 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Parker officiating.

Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery.


Donations in Nina’s “Mom’s” name to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 20-601 West Cordova St., Vancouver BC V6B 1G1 or the Canadian Cancer Society Box 1044 Kamloops BC V2C 6H2, would be appreciated by the family, in lieu of flowers.
