Neil Lorne
FITZSIMMONS
February 7, 1944 - December 22, 2007
Neil Fitzsimmons passed away suddenly on December 22, 2007 in Clearwater, BC, at 63 years of age. Neil was born in Vancouver, BC and spent the past 28 years in the North Thompson valley.
Mourning Neil’s passing is his partner, Julie Mayo of Blackpool, BC, along with his sons James Fitzsimmons of Clearwater, BC, and Lorne (Isabelle) Fitzsimmons of Kamloops, and his many friends.
Although material possessions were of little importance to Neil, he greatly enjoyed living life to the fullest and seeing other members of his family and friends enjoy the wonders of life; he loved to give to others, and he enjoyed life’s simple pleasures.
For many years, Neil was a member of the Elks Club in Clearwater, BC; he served as the Exalted Ruler. He also volunteered with the Blackpool Fire Department and with the local Stock Car Club. Neil built a stock car and took delight as his son Lorne drove it in races at the local track. Neil was also a member of the local Rod and Gun Club.
An informal gathering to Celebrate the Life of Neil Fitzsimmons will be held at the Elks Hall in Clearwater, BC, on Saturday, January 5, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friends are invited to drop in during that time to share memories of Neil. The family would appreciate donations to the Clearwater Elks Club or to the Blackpool Fire Department.
