Margaret Lucy “Peg” Lundquist
April 7, 1916—April 18, 2007
Margaret “Peg” Lundquist (nee Archibald) of Clearwater BC, passed away at her home on April 18, 2007 after a short bout with cancer. She was 91 years of age.
Peg is survived by her sons, Glen Smith of Clearwater, Lloyd (Wilna) Smith of Fort St. John BC and Arne Lundquist of Clearwater, her grandchildren Juanita, Yvonne and Kelly of Fort St. John, and by four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Nils Lundquist of Clearwater BC.
Mrs. Lundquist spent many years as a teacher in British Columbia. She taught in Osoyoos, Kelowna, and at Dutch Lake Elementary and Raft River Schools in Clearwater for more than 20 years. She is fondly remembered by her past students; many students say “She was the best teacher they ever had…she taught her pupils how to think, not just how to memorize facts.”
Following cremation, a Memorial Service to celebrate Peg’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2007 in the banquet room at Wells Gray Inn, Clearwater BC. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Margaret “Peg” Lundquist would be appreciated.
