Leo was born on August 2nd, 1931 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan to Henry and Cecilia Kreke, who emigrated from Germany. He was the oldest of 10 siblings.
On October 22, 1955 Leo married Denise Marie Biloneau, and together they had five children, Richard Kreke (deceased), Christine Stewart (Andy), Michelle Dickie (Scott), Jon Kreke (Christina), and Rob Kreke. Leo also had eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Leo was very proud of his long career as a Lineman. He enjoyed family gatherings and helping on projects for his family members. He was also an avid golfer and card player.
