In Memory of Lawrence Lindquist

July 27, 1933 - June 9, 2007

Lawrence William Lindquist, 73, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully June 9, 2007 at Nehalliston Fishing Lodge near Little Fort, B.C. He died after he sat down with a glass of wine and a book on the lodge couch, overlooking Lake TaWeel where he had spent every summer since 1969.

Larry was born in 1933 in Menasha, Wisconsin to Madeline Treutel Lindquist and Lawrence Edward Lindquist. Larry spent his childhood in Menasha in the home his father built. He graduated from Purdue University in 1956 as a metallurgical engineer. He came directly to Tacoma, WA to work for ASARCO, retiring in 1988 as a plant manager in Hayden, AZ. While Larry never married, he loved children and was a generous uncle and great-uncle. Larry was a faithful friend, a selfless supporter of those in need, and an upright and caring man.

He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Lindquist Keefe and her husband Bill of Fond du Lac, WI, his brother-in-law, Tom Anfang of Renton, WA, six nieces and nephews, and thirteen great nieces and nephews. A lifelong Catholic, Larry joins his parents, sister Kathryn Lindquist Anfang and a great-niece in heaven.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen’s the Martyr Catholic Church in Renton, WA on Saturday, August 4, 2007. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Local arrangements entrusted to North Thompson Funeral Services, Clearwater, BC, 250-674-3030.
