April 13, 1934—March 29, 2007


Ken Simpson was born April 13, 1934 in Ainderby Quernhow, England. He moved to Canada at the age of 12 and resided in the Vancouver area until he retired in Clearwater, BC. He passed suddenly near Clearwater doing what he loved best, fishing.

Ken was predeceased by his mother Kate Lawson, father, Norman Simpson and his step-father Edward Lawson of England.

Ken is remembered with love by Ilene Simpson, his loving wife of 52 years; daughter Catherine (Garry) Remus of Tappen, BC; sons Norman (Lisa) Simpson of Chilliwack, BC, and Ken (Sandy) Simpson of Victoria, BC; eight grandchildren, Jason (Laura), Brenda (Riley), Tamara, Tabitha, Scott (Julie), Natasha, Micheal and Sierra; great grandchildren Drayton, Colin, Sarah and Crystal; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Ken proudly worked as a 2nd Engineer for the BC Ferries for 35 years. He was an active member in the Sapperton Fish and Game Club and the BC Wildlife Federation. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, fly tying, camping and gardening.

Ken was admired by his family and friends. He has a special place in everyone’s heart. Ken loved life and made the most of every minute of every day. Ken was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather. His family was his pride and joy. They will miss him deeply, especially his hugs.

A celebration of Ken’s life was held on Wednesday April 4, 2007 at the Wells Gray Inn with Lloyd Strickland, Minister, officiating.
