In Loving Memory of Keith Graffunder


Keith Carl Graffunder, born March 28, 1977 in Clearwater, BC, passed away suddenly as a result of a logging accident in Clearwater on January 20, 2007. He was 29 years of age.


Keith will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Candus, and their children, three year-old daughter Isabella, and six month-old son, Jackson. Also left to mourn are his mother, Mary Downey (John); father, Doug Graffunder (Janice); brother Kelly Graffunder (Jenna) and son Storm; sister, Nicole Graffunder (Blaine) and children Rikki, Jesse and Kelly; stepsister Koreen Roshinsky (Trevor) and children Paige and Hallie; grandparents, Ernie and Helen Graffunder; mother and father-in-law, Pete and Barb Pelton; sister and brother-in-law, Jody and Todd Phillips and children Kiah and Jaden; aunts and uncles Wally and Sugar Graffunder and children Bobbie and Bonnie; Hugh and Shelley Graffunder and children Cory and Candice; Sandra and Ed Peebles and sons Rodney, Spencer and Marshall; Rolf and Stella Schuchardt and son Randy; Karl and Toni Schuchardt and children Kyle and Kristy; Cliff and Lydia Trudeau and children Cathy, Barb and Guy; Susan and Joe Sampson and sons Joey and Jesse; Bernie and Robin Graffunder and children Nicholas, Ryan and Heather; and special friends Craig Shook, Ryan O’Dette, Andrew Walker and Brad Anderson; as well as many more extended family and friends.


Keith was predeceased by his grandparents, Kaethe and Willy Schuchardt; great grandparents Leif and May Olson and Carl Hansen; and his cousin, Dustin Graffunder.


During his earlier years, Keith belonged to the Beavers, the Cubs, Scouts and the 4-H Beef Club. He graduated from Clearwater Secondary School in 1995 and completed his Machinist Trade Qualification at BCIT. During his working life, Keith was a logger, a rancher and a machinist.


Keith will be remembered as an honest, caring, humorous person who lived life to its fullest. He was always willing to help others. Most of all, his world revolved around the love he had for his wife Candus and their two children, Isabella and Jackson.


Following cremation, a Celebration of Keith’s Life was held on Friday, January 26, 2007 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Clearwater, BC. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been established for his children, Isabella and Jackson, at Interior Savings Credit Union, Box 2587, RR2, Clearwater, BC, V0E 1N0.
