June 18, 1911 – July 13, 2006
Kathrina Richter (nee Dyck) was born in the Russian Ukraine in 1911. A resident of Clearwater and Blackpool for 55 years, she passed away -- due to many health problems as a result of old age -- in Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, Clearwater BC, on July 13, 2006. She was 95 years of age. Kathrina will be missed by her family, including her daughters Nahyda (Ross) Chandler of St. Mary’s Idaho and Millie Rempel of Clearwater, BC; her son Theodore “Ted” Richter of Clearwater BC, sixteen grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 29 great-great grandchildren. Sadly, Kathrina was predeceased by her daughter, Honey Richter of Vancouver BC and her son Wally Richter of Vancouver BC.
Kathrina will be missed by her family and friends. A Funeral Service was held at the Evangelical Free Church in Clearwater BC on Monday, July 17, 2006, with Minister Lloyd Strickland officiating. Many memories of Kathrina were shared during the service. Following a reading of the 23rd Psalm and interment at the Clearwater Riverview Cemetery, family and friends gathered to share refreshments and memories at the Wells Gray Inn. The family extends its sincere thanks to the caring staff at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater BC; donations in Kathrina’s memory to the BC Cancer Society would be appreciated.
