June Vandenborre (nee Surkan)
April 18, 1939 - October 3, 2010
After a brief and brave struggle with cancer, June Vandenborre of Clearwater BC passed away on October 3, 2010 at Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops, BC. Born in Vernon, BC, June was a long time resident of Clearwater and the North Thompson Valley.
Left to mourn June's passing are her daughters, Carol Labelle and Sheila Koroll, grandchildren Lori Labelle, Jeff Koroll, Dayna Koroll and Nicole Andrews, great grandson Dallas Luxton, sister Ruth Kashuba and brother Lloyd (Mary) Surkan. June was predeceased by her mother and father, Iva and Delbert Surkan, husband Ernest (Nicky) Vandenborre and her son, Wayne Vandenborre.
June held a number of roles in her lifetime. She was a homemaker, a secretary and a tree planter. She volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary, was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and she was involved with the Rural Crime Watch program. June was a giver, always willing to help out any time. She enjoyed the M&M suppers, but her family was most important to June.
A Memorial Service for June Vandenborre will take place in the Conference Room at the Wells Gray Inn at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2010.
